Three Arrested in Habersham County Drug Investigations

HABERSHAM COUNTY, GA – Two separate drug investigations this week in Habersham County resulted in three arrests, the seizure of methamphetamine, marijuana, and firearms, and the dismantling of suspected drug distribution operations.
On Wednesday, July 16, 2025, Billy Ray Henson, 46, of Demorest, was arrested following a two-week investigation by the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office. The Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit and the Cornelia Police Department assisted with the arrest.
Henson is charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and two counts of possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a felony. Deputies seized approximately a half-ounce of methamphetamine and two pistols during the arrest.
On Thursday, July 17, a separate investigation into illegal drug activity led to the arrest of Toby Whitfield, 50, at a residence on Keller Road in Mt. Airy. Whitfield is charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Authorities recovered approximately two ounces of methamphetamine and four ounces of marijuana during the arrest. Also taken into custody at the scene was Kimberly Bryson, who is charged with possession of methamphetamine.
The investigation and arrests were conducted by the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office, with assistance from the Sheriff’s K9 Unit.
