Florida Man Arrested After High-Speed Chase and Crash on I-95 in Glynn County

GLYNN COUNTY, GA — On July 13, 2025, at approximately 6:38 a.m., Glynn County Police responded to the 1500 block of Glynco Parkway after a citizen reported two males acting suspiciously at the Circle K on Millennium Boulevard. The caller stated the individuals appeared to be covering the license plate of a vehicle.

Officers located the vehicle nearby and observed the driver attempting to conceal his face with clothing. A clothing item was also found obscuring the vehicle’s license plate. When officers initiated a traffic stop, the driver fled at a high rate of speed, leading to a pursuit that ended with a crash on Interstate 95.

The driver, identified as 40-year-old Jermaine Calhoun of Gainesville, Florida, was taken into custody at the scene. The passenger was transported to Southeast Georgia Health System – Brunswick Campus with non-life-threatening injuries.

Calhoun was later booked into the Glynn County Detention Center and faces multiple charges including:

  • Removing or Affixing License Plate with Intent to Conceal or Misrepresent
  • Driving While License Suspended
  • Speeding
  • Reckless Driving
  • Improper Lane Change
  • Failure to Obey Traffic Signal
  • Felony Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police
