Home Invasion and Armed Robbery at Echols County Migrant Camp

The Echols County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a home invasion and armed robbery that occurred early this morning, July 7, 2025, at a migrant work camp located in the 1700 block of Highway 129 South.
The incident involved four masked Black males, who were armed with a rifle and several pistols, and were reportedly wearing body armor. After the robbery, the suspects fled the scene, possibly crossing into Florida. The nine alleged victims were then able to contact 911 for help.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is assisting with this ongoing investigation.
