Toccoa Parents Arrested on Child Cruelty Charges

Two Toccoa residents, James Griffin, Jr., 37, and Natasha Griffin, 41, were arrested on Thursday afternoon, June 26, 2025, by the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Unit. They face multiple charges related to alleged physical child abuse.

The investigation began on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, when investigators received a complaint of a child being physically abused in a home by their parents. After obtaining corroborating evidence, investigators secured a search warrant for the suspects’ residence on Ed Davis Boulevard.

At approximately 3:26 p.m., the Crime Suppression Unit executed the search warrant at the address. Both James Griffin, Jr. and Natasha Griffin were arrested on warrants for Cruelty to Children in the 1st Degree, Cruelty to Children in the 2nd Degree, and Battery (Family Violence Act).

They were transported to the Stephens County Jail without incident and are currently being held on bonds set at $31,000 each.
