East Macon Man Arrested After Breaking Into Home, Fleeing Into Woods

A man was taken into custody by Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division deputies following a residential burglary in East Macon.

According to the incident report, the suspect forcibly entered a residence on Fairview Avenue by kicking in the door. Once inside, he filled a backpack with stolen items and fled the scene on foot, running into a wooded area nearby.

Deputies pursued the suspect and arrested him near the wood line. He was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center.

The suspect faces charges of burglary-felony and willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer by use of threats or violence-felony.

The investigation remains ongoing.
