Armed Robbery at Macon Truck Stop, Attempted Robbery at Delux Inn Under Investigation

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a commercial armed robbery that occurred around 4:10 a.m. at the Love’s Truck Stop, located at 1190 Frank Amerson, and a related attempted robbery at the Delux Inn.

It was reported that two masked men, brandishing a firearm, entered the Love’s Truck Stop and demanded money from the register. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspects fled the store in an unknown direction. It is unclear if they escaped in a vehicle.

Authorities also reported that the same two men attempted to rob the Delux Inn, located at 4565 Hartley Bridge Road, but were unsuccessful.

The first suspect is described as wearing all black, with his hoodie pulled over his head and a mask covering his face. The second suspect was reportedly wearing a blue hoodie pulled over his head, gray pants, and a mask covering his face.

Images from the locations’ surveillance systems are being used in the investigation.
