Two Men Shot During Struggle Over Firearm in Atlanta’s West End

On Sunday, June 8, 2025, at approximately 5:38 p.m., Atlanta Police responded to a report of a shooting at 590 Cascade Ave SW in the West End area. Upon arrival, officers found a male victim with a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was alert, conscious, and breathing before being transported to a hospital for treatment.

During the ongoing investigation, police received a second shooting call at 1400 Donnelly Ave SW. Officers located another male victim, also suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

Preliminary findings indicate both incidents are connected. The first victim stated he was with a group of male associates when one of the men attempted to rob him of cash and forcibly take his firearm. A struggle ensued over the weapon, during which both males sustained gunshot wounds.

Gabriel Breax was identified as the suspect in the shooting. Breax, who had an active warrant out of South Carolina, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, armed robbery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He is currently held at Grady Detention.
