Bibb County Deputies Arrest Two in Connection with Stolen Vehicle Disguised as Ford

Two women were arrested by a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office S.R.T. Unit deputy after a traffic stop on Ga. Highway 247 revealed a stolen vehicle cleverly disguised as a Ford.

The incident occurred when a deputy stopped what appeared to be a red Ford traveling without a license plate. A black truck following the red car also pulled over. According to the Sheriff’s Office report, the driver of the red vehicle stated she was driving the car back to Byron for the woman in the black truck, who had just purchased it.

Further investigation revealed that the red vehicle, which lacked any paperwork, was actually a stolen Hyundai Sonata. In an apparent attempt to conceal its identity, the Hyundai emblems had been removed and replaced with Ford emblems. Additionally, the vehicle’s steering column was damaged, and it required a screwdriver to start.

Both females were taken into custody, transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center, and charged with theft by receiving stolen property.
