Florida Man Arrested in Bibb County After Attempted Theft and Foot Chase; Wanted for Armed Robbery

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division deputies have arrested a Florida man who was wanted on an armed robbery charge after he attempted to steal thousands of dollars in merchandise from a local business.
According to case details, on Monday, April 28th, deputies apprehended the suspect following a short foot pursuit. He was tased after allegedly leaving a sporting goods store with nearly $3,000 worth of merchandise. Authorities also discovered that the suspect had outstanding warrants in Macon-Bibb County for commercial armed robbery and theft by shoplifting.
The suspect was identified as 43-year-old Lonnie Alexander.
Alexander now faces multiple charges in Bibb County, including Armed Robbery, Felony-Theft by Shoplifting, Misdemeanor-Theft by Shoplifting, Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, Criminal Trespass, and two counts of Willful Obstruction of Law Enforcement Officers. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office indicated that additional charges may be pending as the investigation continues.
