Columbus Police Seek Information in Fatal Shooting of 27-Year-Old Man

Columbus Police Department officers responded to a shooting in the 900 block of Rigdon Road on Friday, April 11, 2025, at approximately 2:36 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim, identified as 27-year-old Jaylon Wesley, lying deceased in the middle of Colorado Street with multiple gunshot wounds. Muscogee County Coroner Dustin Harrelson pronounced him dead at the scene.

The Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is leading the investigation into this fatal shooting.

Authorities have indicated that several people and vehicles were in the vicinity at the time of the incident and are urging anyone who was in the area or has any information that could be helpful to the investigation to contact Corporal M. Spivey at 706-225-4261. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
