Americus Police Seek Suspect in Fatal Overnight Shooting

The Americus Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early this morning, Wednesday, April 16th, at a residence located at 105 Glory Court.

According to a press release issued by Police Chief Mark Scott, officers were dispatched to the location at approximately 12:50 am in response to a reported shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered a 21-year-old male victim, identified as Amon Kevone Harvey of Americus, inside the residence with apparent gunshot wounds. Officers provided emergency aid until EMS arrived.

Harvey was transported to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center (PSMC) and subsequently airlifted to a trauma center in Macon. Despite medical intervention, Amon Kevone Harvey succumbed to his injuries and died.

Police have identified the shooting suspect as 20-year-old Kentravious Lemond Holmes, also of Americus. Holmes is currently wanted on charges of Felony Murder and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding Holmes’ whereabouts to contact 911 immediately.
