Quitman Police Officer, Wife Arrested on Child Cruelty Charges

Deandre Tucker, 33, a Quitman Police Officer, has been arrested and charged with one count of felony Cruelty to Children in the 1st Degree. His wife, Micayla Tucker, 30, has been charged with one count of felony Cruelty to Children in the 2nd Degree with Negligence.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) was requested by the Quitman Police Department on Sunday, March 2, 2025, to investigate an allegation of child abuse against Deandre Tucker.

GBI agents responded to collect evidence and conduct interviews. Based on the severity of visible injuries on the child, both Deandre and Micayla Tucker were arrested.

Both individuals were booked into the Brooks County Jail. The investigation is active and ongoing.
