Man Accused of Damaging Tents of Homeless  with Cutting Tool in Atlanta

On March 7, 2025, at approximately 11:39 a.m., Atlanta Police officers responded to a property damage call at 385 Old Wheat Street NE in Atlanta. Victims that are homeless at the scene reported that an unidentified male suspect had used a cutting tool to damage their tents.

Following an investigation, authorities identified the suspect as 42-year-old Daniel Barnett, also known as “Davinci.” Investigators with the General Crimes Unit secured warrants for Barnett on charges of Damage to Property.

Barnett, who is known to work as a security officer in the Auburn area, is not affiliated with the City of Atlanta or the Atlanta Police Department. Authorities believe he acted alone. A video of the incident has circulated on social media.
