Home Invasion Call Leads to Drug and Burglary Arrests in Lavonia

A reported home invasion on Highway 17 in Lavonia on Monday, February 24, 2025, resulted in multiple arrests and the seizure of drugs, firearms, and currency.
Franklin County 911 Dispatch received a call regarding the home invasion, and law enforcement from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Lavonia Police Department, and Georgia State Patrol responded to the scene.
Following an investigation by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, two South Carolina residents were charged with Burglary (first degree) and Cruelty to Children (third degree). The caller was arrested and charged with Possession of Schedule I with Intent to Distribute (THC Oil), Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, and Cruelty to Children (third degree).
On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, search warrants were executed at the location, leading to the discovery and seizure of additional evidence, including firearms, currency, and a vehicle. Additional charges were filed including Possession of Schedule I with Intent to Distribute (Psilocybin mushrooms), Possession of Schedule II with Intent to Distribute (hydrocodone), and Possession of Schedule IV (alprazolam).
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office stated that additional suspects and warrants are forthcoming.
