Brunswick Man Arrested for New Year’s Day Shooting Incident in Glynn County
On January 24, 2025, detectives from the Glynn County Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division arrested 36-year-old Daniel Rhodes of Brunswick, Georgia, in connection to a shots-fired incident that occurred on January 1, 2025, in the Blythe Island area of Glynn County.
On New Year’s Day, officers with the Uniformed Patrol Division responded to a home that had been struck by a bullet. The bullet passed through the house and damaged several objects inside. Fortunately, none of the residents present were injured.
Thanks to information provided by the homeowner and investigative efforts, detectives identified Rhodes as the suspect. They secured arrest warrants for Rhodes on charges of Reckless Conduct and a search warrant for his residence to locate the firearm(s) involved and other evidence.
During the search, authorities seized several firearms and spent ammunition casings. After his arrest, Rhodes admitted to discharging firearms at the time of the incident during an interview at the Glynn County Police Department Headquarters. He was subsequently transported to the Glynn County Detention Center and charged with Reckless Conduct.
