Investigation Underway After Woman Found Dead in Vehicle at Monroe Municipal Airport

On January 4, 2025, the City of Monroe Police Department responded to a “Trouble Unknown” call at 535 Towler Street, Monroe Municipal Airport. Upon arrival, officers discovered 66-year-old Deborah Williams of Cumming, Georgia, deceased inside her vehicle from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Williams’s vehicle was found parked in front of the airport gate, with her as the sole occupant. The Athens GBI Office was called to assist in the investigation, and the case has been turned over to them.
