Detention Deputy and Former Employee Arrested in Rockdale County Jail Investigation

On December 13, 2024, the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) arrested one of its detention deputies following an ongoing investigation into prohibited items being brought into the Rockdale County Jail. Further investigation led to the arrest of a former employee on December 16, 2024.

Sheriff Eric J. Levett praised the swift actions of his team in handling the situation, emphasizing the department’s commitment to thoroughly investigating all leads. “I hold every one of my employees at a different level of accountability… there is absolutely no exception in any case of misconduct by any employee of the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office that will go unanswered,” Levett stated.

The investigation remains active, with RCSO continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the prohibited items.
