Suspicious Device Shuts Down I-75/85 in Atlanta, Determined Inert
Traffic on Interstate 75/85 northbound came to a halt on Friday after the Atlanta Police Department responded to reports of a suspicious device near Decatur Street. Officers closed the interstate as a precaution after locating the object adjacent to the HOV lane.
The APD Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit examined the device and determined it to be inert. Following the assessment, the interstate was reopened to traffic.
Authorities have not released further details about the object, and the investigation remains ongoing.
