Greater Macon Chamber Earns Prestigious Georgia Certified Chamber Designation
The Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce was officially recognized as a Georgia Certified Chamber during the 2024 Board Development Conference held in Macon on November 14, 2024. This prestigious honor is awarded by the Georgia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (GACCE) to Chambers that demonstrate a commitment to operational excellence, strategic leadership, and a dedication to fostering a pro-business environment across the state.
The Georgia Certified Chamber program, established in 2011, was designed to recognize organizations that go above and beyond in assessing their strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities to ensure they can provide maximum value to their business communities. Chambers seeking certification must meet high standards in a variety of areas, including professional administration, organizational structure, financial management, service capacity, communications, and advocacy.
Jessica Walden, President and CEO of the Greater Macon Chamber, expressed her pride in receiving the re-certification, stating, “The Greater Macon Chamber continues to represent our business community with a demonstrated reputation as a chamber among chambers in our state. Our staff and board of directors are proud of our re-certification with our state association, earned by our operations and impact.”
With over 150 Chambers of Commerce operating across Georgia, the Greater Macon Chamber joins an exclusive group of over 40 organizations that have received this certification over the past 13 years. This certification highlights the Macon Chamber’s strong leadership and its role in helping to shape a business-friendly environment in the region.
In addition to the Greater Macon Chamber, several other organizations received the Georgia Certified Chamber designation in 2024, including:
- Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce
- Fannin County Chamber of Commerce
- Jackson County Area Chamber of Commerce
- Milledgeville-Baldwin County Chamber of Commerce
- Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce
These Chambers were recognized for their outstanding efforts in improving their operations and making positive impacts within their respective communities.
