Arrest Made in Connection with Spring Street Death Investigation in Macon

The U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Taskforce arrested 42-year-old Roy Deon Thornton III of Macon in connection with a death investigation at the Exxon Gas Station on 36 Spring Street. Thornton was wanted in Bibb County for the death of Tavarus Hunter, which occurred on September 14, 2024, at 1:16 a.m.

Following the arrest, Thornton was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Headquarters and then to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. He faces a charge of Murder and is being held without bond.
