Youth Football Game Turns Violent, Coach Arrested for Firing Gun at Henderson Stadium

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office S.R.T. Unit deputies responded to a call on Saturday regarding shots fired during a youth travel football game at Henderson Stadium. The violence erupted after tensions from aggressive social media exchanges between the opposing teams escalated into a physical altercation.

According to the report, security intervened, separating the groups and asking them to leave the field. However, a second altercation broke out, involving players, parents, coaches, and even cheerleaders. During the melee, a youth football coach from Atlanta produced a handgun and fired shots into the air.

The coach was arrested and faces charges of reckless conduct and discharge of a gun by a public highway or street. Other participants involved in the fight were also arrested and charged with disorderly conduct or obstruction. All individuals were transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center without further incident.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
