Three-Year-Old Killed in Hit-and-Run on Riverside Drive in Macon

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred on Riverside Drive, south of North Crest Boulevard in Macon, in the early hours of Monday, October 14, 2024. The incident was reported to the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center at 3:58 a.m.

Deputies responded to a hotel in the 3900 block of Riverside Drive regarding a missing person. During the investigation, deputies discovered the missing person, a three-year-old boy, unresponsive nearby. Investigators determined the child had been struck by an unknown vehicle. Deputy Coroner Richard Robinson pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

The body will be sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) for an autopsy. The next of kin has been notified, and the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
