Fatal Shooting in Oakland City Leaves One Dead, Investigation Underway
On October 5, 2024, at approximately 12:18 PM, Atlanta Police Zone 4 Officers responded to reports of a shooting at 1240 Oakland Drive SW in Oakland City. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 28-year-old male who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Medical personnel pronounced the individual deceased at the scene.
Investigators promptly arrived to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. In an abundance of caution, the Atlanta Police Department’s SWAT Team was notified and also responded to the location.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to uncover more details regarding the shooting.
