Bibb County Sheriff Investigating Fatal Hit-and-Run on Hawkinsville Road

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred on Sunday, September 29, 2024, on Hawkinsville Road, south of Feagin Road in Macon. The incident was reported to the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center at 2:28 p.m.

Deputies arrived on the scene and discovered 25-year-old Hatima Ayana Wilkins unresponsive off the roadway. Authorities determined that Wilkins had been struck by an unknown vehicle, which fled the scene. She was pronounced dead by Coroner Leon Jones, and her next of kin has been notified.
