Investigation Launched into Possible Gunshots at Ware County High School
At the request of the Ware County School Police Department, agents from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) are looking into reports of a shooting at Ware County High School.
On Monday, September 23, 2024, a teacher and several students reported hearing what they believed to be gunshots in the hallway outside their classroom. The teacher quickly activated the emergency protocol system, prompting a rapid response from law enforcement, who arrived on the scene in significant numbers. Authorities conducted a thorough investigation and determined there was no immediate threat to students or faculty.
Following the incident, the Ware County School Police Department requested assistance from the GBI to investigate the source of the noise that was initially thought to be gunfire.
