Statesboro Man Arrested on Child Sexual Exploitation Charge Following Online CyberTip Investigation

STATESBORO, Ga. – A 28-year-old Statesboro man has been arrested on a child sexual exploitation charge following an investigation that began with a tip about the possible online possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced that Nicholas Dahlquist, 28, of Statesboro, was arrested Sept. 30, 2026, and charged with one count of sexual exploitation of children.
The investigation began in January 2026 when the GBI’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes (CEACC) Unit received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
The tip involved suspected online activity related to the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material, commonly referred to as CSAM.
GBI agents launched an investigation that ultimately led to Dahlquist being identified as a suspect and taken into custody.
Following his arrest, Dahlquist was booked into the Bulloch County Jail.
Authorities have not disclosed how much suspected child sexual abuse material was involved, whether electronic devices were seized or what specific evidence led to the charge.
The GBI’s Regional Investigative Office in Statesboro, the Statesboro Police Department and the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the investigation.
