Milledgeville Meth Trafficking Ring Leads to Lengthy Federal Prison Sentences
MACON, Ga. – Two more defendants have been sentenced to federal prison in a methamphetamine trafficking investigation involving drugs transported from the Atlanta area for distribution in Milledgeville, according to federal prosecutors.
Desmond Glenn, 35, of Milledgeville, was sentenced Aug. 12 to 260 months, or nearly 22 years, in prison followed by 10 years of supervised release. He previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
Katherine Short-Barcenas, 36, also of Milledgeville, received a 48-month prison sentence followed by five years of supervised release. She pleaded guilty in December 2025 to distribution of methamphetamine.
The sentences are the latest in a federal investigation that began in early 2023 into methamphetamine distribution in Baldwin County.
According to court records cited by prosecutors, investigators conducted four controlled drug purchases from Glenn between April and July 2023, buying approximately 162 grams of methamphetamine. Authorities said surveillance also documented Glenn selling methamphetamine and other drugs and obtaining larger quantities from suppliers.
Prosecutors identified Ruby Fogg, 39, of Austell, as the leader of the trafficking network. They said Fogg worked with Robert Matthew Wood, 43, of Marietta, to obtain and distribute methamphetamine, frequently using Atlanta-area hotel rooms to store and sell drugs.
The investigation culminated in a series of arrests in November 2023.
On Nov. 14, prosecutors said Fogg directed Glenn to retrieve methamphetamine from Wood at an Atlanta-area hotel. Rodney May, 38, of Milledgeville, and Tony Baker, 39, of Macon, traveled with Glenn.
Law enforcement stopped their vehicle on the return trip and found nearly a kilogram of methamphetamine in a bag, along with a smaller quantity on the floorboard, according to prosecutors. Officers also recovered two firearms.
Investigators later searched Glenn’s Milledgeville home and found another 64.68 grams of methamphetamine and five firearms in his bedroom.
Two days later, authorities arrested Fogg and Wood. A search of their hotel room turned up another 154.97 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, prosecutors said.
Fogg has since been sentenced to 324 months, or 27 years, in federal prison followed by 10 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Wood received a 262-month sentence, nearly 22 years, followed by 10 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Baker was sentenced to 92 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
Two additional defendants are awaiting sentencing.
Cory Wilson, 41, of Milledgeville, pleaded guilty July 20 to distribution of methamphetamine. His sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 14.
May pleaded guilty in December 2025 to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. His sentencing is scheduled for May 12, 2027.
U.S. District Judge Marc T. Treadwell is presiding over the cases. The investigation was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration and Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.
