Two Arrested Following Rockmart Convenience Store Shooting Investigation

ROCKMART, Ga. – Two people have been arrested following a joint investigation into a shooting that injured a man in the parking lot of a Rockmart convenience store, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Rockmart Police Department.

Authorities identified the suspects as 26-year-old Travis Marquis Peek of Rockmart and 33-year-old Savannah Clark of Rockmart.

Peek is charged with aggravated assault, while Clark is charged with hindering prosecution.

The shooting occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. on July 8 in the parking lot of the Smart Mart convenience store at 642 Goodyear Avenue.

When Rockmart police officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.

Investigators arrested Clark on July 8, and she was booked into the Polk County Jail.

Peek was arrested the following day in Floyd County by the Floyd County Police Department and transported to the Polk County Jail.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
