Bibb County Deputies Seek Public’s Help Finding Missing Man Last Seen in February

MACON, Ga. — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing man who has not been seen since February.

According to the sheriff’s office, 47-year-old Lavar James was reported missing on May 18, 2026. Investigators said James was last seen on Feb. 19 after being released from the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

Authorities said James failed to report to his probation officer following his release, and his whereabouts have been unknown since that time.

James is described as a Black male with short black hair, a goatee, and brown eyes. He is approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs about 170 pounds, and has a scar on the left side of his cheek.
