Stalking Suspect Arrested After Pursuit Ends in Overturned Crash in Macon

MACON, Ga. — A stalking suspect was arrested after leading Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies on a vehicle pursuit that ended with an overturned crash and the recovery of a firearm.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, patrol deputies were investigating a stalking complaint after a woman reported the suspect had repeatedly come to her residence, threatened her with violence, and killed her pet the previous night.

While investigating the case, deputies received a Flock Safety camera alert indicating the suspect’s vehicle had been detected traveling near Houston Avenue.

Deputies located the vehicle and attempted to make contact, but the driver immediately fled, leading deputies on a brief pursuit.

The chase ended at the intersection of Broadway and Moreland Avenue when the suspect lost control of his truck, crashed through a fence, and overturned.

As deputies approached the overturned vehicle, they observed the suspect holding a firearm.

After issuing several commands, deputies said the suspect complied, surrendered peacefully, and exited the vehicle without further incident.

A firearm was recovered from inside the truck.

The suspect was arrested and charged with:

  • Felony Fleeing and Attempting to Elude a Law Enforcement Officer
  • Criminal Damage to Property
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
  • Violation of Probation
  • Aggravated Stalking
  • Aggravated Cruelty to Animals

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately release the suspect’s identity.
