Macon Man Killed in Three-Vehicle Crash on Eisenhower Parkway
MACON, Georgia – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal three-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Macon man late Thursday night.
The collision was reported to the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center shortly before 11 p.m. on May 28. The location was on Eisenhower Parkway near the intersection with Log Cabin Drive in Macon.
Deputies arriving at the scene discovered a crash involving a Ford Edge SUV, a Mercedes-Benz GLE, and a Freightliner M2 commercial truck.
Investigators identified the driver of the Ford Edge as 38-year-old Victor Anthony Calhoun. Authorities said Calhoun died from his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has been notified.
The other drivers involved, a 17-year-old female operating the Mercedes-Benz and a 66-year-old man driving the Freightliner Corp truck, were treated by paramedics at the scene. No additional injuries were reported.
Witnesses reported that the driver of the Ford Edge, traveling east on Eisenhower Parkway struck the Mercedes-Benz from the rear, east of the intersection of Log Cabin Drive. The Edge then drifted into the westbound lanes of Eisenhower Parkway and was struck head-on by the Freightliner truck.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
