Four Arrested After Traffic Stop Leads to Drug, Weapon Charges in Bibb County
BIBB COUNTY, Ga. — Four individuals were arrested following a traffic stop that led to the discovery of drugs and firearms, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators with the Criminal Investigation Division Drug Unit conducted the stop on a Lexus near Lynmore Avenue after the driver allegedly failed to use a turn signal.
Deputies reported smelling a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, which led to a search.
During the search, investigators said they recovered a stolen Glock handgun equipped with a switch, an additional handgun that was not reported stolen, and a backpack containing marijuana, packaging materials and a digital scale.
All occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody and transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
Authorities said all four suspects are facing charges including possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a machine gun due to the modified Glock.
The investigation remains ongoing.
