Armed Suspect in Stolen Car Arrested After Pursuit, Foot Chase in Macon
MACON, Ga. — A man armed with a loaded handgun was arrested after a vehicle pursuit and foot chase involving a stolen car and stolen license plate, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred Wednesday, April 22, 2026, when deputies attempted to stop a stolen Toyota Camry. Authorities said the driver fled, leading deputies on a pursuit that ended on Bloomfield Drive.
Investigators said the suspect then ran from the vehicle, but deputies located and arrested him in a nearby backyard.
The suspect was identified as 27-year-old Tylaun Rashard Mullins, who officials said is currently on probation.
Authorities reported Mullins was in possession of a loaded handgun at the time of his arrest, and the vehicle he was driving displayed a stolen license plate.
Mullins is facing multiple charges, including driving under the influence of drugs, two counts of theft by receiving stolen property, felony fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, possession of substances with intent to manufacture Schedule I or II controlled substances, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, willful obstruction of law enforcement officers and a probation violation.
He was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center without further incident.
Online records show Mullins has a prior criminal history, including a 2019 conviction for theft of a firearm from a federal firearms licensee following a robbery at a Bass Pro Shop. In 2022, he was arrested in connection with a theft ring in central Georgia. In 2024, he was indicted on charges including fleeing a police officer and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The investigation remains ongoing.
