Contour Airlines Adds Fort Lauderdale Route, Restores Baltimore Service From Macon

MACON, Ga. — Contour Airlines is expanding its service in Middle Georgia with the return of nonstop flights to Baltimore and the launch of a new route to Fort Lauderdale, officials announced.

Both routes will begin June 9, 2026, from Middle Georgia Regional Airport. The airline will reinstate service to Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, a route previously offered and returning due to strong demand from the Macon area.

Contour will also introduce a new nonstop route to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, providing travelers direct access to South Florida’s beaches and cruise ports.

Expanded Flight Options

Flights to Baltimore will operate daily, with an additional morning flight offered three times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The afternoon service will run daily between Macon and Baltimore.

The Fort Lauderdale route will operate four times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, offering flexible travel options for both leisure and business passengers.

Contour said the routes will be operated using its 30-seat regional jet, which includes leather seating, extra legroom, and complimentary snacks and beverages.

Local and Airline Leaders Highlight Growth

“Contour Airlines is committed to growing alongside the communities we serve,” said Ben Munson, president of Contour Airlines. “We’ve heard from travelers across Middle Georgia who have been asking for the return of Baltimore service, as well as new options to Florida. We’re proud to deliver on both.”

Macon-Bibb County Mayor Lester Miller said the additional routes will expand travel opportunities for local residents.

“If you want to tour the nation’s capital or visit the sunny beaches of Florida or catch a cruise, you’ll soon be able to do it all from here in Macon,” Miller said.

Airport officials also noted the expanded schedule is expected to strengthen overall connectivity for the region.

“With the addition of Fort Lauderdale service and the return to Baltimore, the network available to our community continues to grow,” said Heather Hillstrom Lowe, deputy director of aviation for Macon-Bibb County.

Officials said the expanded service reflects continued investment in the region and aims to provide more convenient access to both business and leisure destinations.
