Bob’s Discount Furniture Breaks Ground on Distribution Center in Macon
MACON, Ga. — A major new logistics project is underway in Macon following the groundbreaking of a large-scale warehouse and distribution center for Bob’s Discount Furniture.
Omega Construction joined project partners and community leaders on March 26, 2026, to break ground on the approximately 801,000-square-foot facility at 4521 Cavalier Drive. The center will serve as a key distribution hub supporting the retailer’s expansion across the Southeast.
The project includes a single, state-of-the-art facility designed to strengthen regional distribution capabilities and enhance supply chain efficiency. It is being delivered through a design-build approach, with Omega Construction serving as the general contractor.
The development is led by Onyx Partners, with project collaboration from Falcon Design Consultants, Atlas Collaborative and HGA.
“Onyx Partners is proud to partner with Bob’s Discount Furniture and the Omega Construction team to bring this significant logistics project to Macon,” said Brian Kaplan, Vice President of Development with Onyx Partners. “This facility represents a major investment in the region and reflects the strength of Macon’s location, workforce and infrastructure.”
David Ledford, Executive Vice President of Omega Construction’s Upstate Division, highlighted the collaboration behind the project.
“This groundbreaking marks an exciting milestone for the entire project team and reflects the strength of collaboration between Bob’s Discount Furniture, Onyx Partners, Omega Construction and our design partners,” Ledford said. “We are proud to deliver a facility that will support growth while creating lasting value for the Macon community.”
Bob’s Discount Furniture officials said the new center will play a critical role in their long-term strategy.
“Bob’s Discount Furniture is thrilled to select Macon as the home of our first Southeastern distribution center,” said Ramesh Murthy, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “Macon’s strategic location and strong transportation infrastructure make it an ideal hub to reach our growing customer base.”
Officials said the project reflects continued investment in Macon’s industrial sector and reinforces the city’s role as a growing logistics hub in the Southeast.
