Three Arrested After Vehicles Exchange Gunfire in Cordele
CORDELE, Ga. — Three people were arrested following a late-night shooting involving multiple vehicles Thursday, according to the Cordele Police Department.
Officers responded just before 11:00 p.m. on March 26, 2026, to reports of gunfire in the Flint Drive area. Preliminary findings indicate that occupants of two vehicles exchanged gunfire.
During the incident, an adult bystander sitting in her vehicle sustained minor injuries when a bullet passed through her windshield. Police said she was not struck by the bullet but was injured by shattered glass.
An officer in the area of 15th Street spotted one of the involved vehicles traveling northbound and initiated a traffic stop. When the vehicle came to a stop, several individuals fled on foot.
Three individuals were taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers recovered three firearms from the vehicle, including one confirmed to be stolen. Marijuana was also located inside the vehicle.
The investigation remains ongoing.
