Body Found Inside Storage Unit During Missing Person Investigation In Macon

MACON, Georgia – Authorities are investigating after a body was discovered inside a storage unit in Macon.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division responded to the 4100 block of Riverside Drive while working a missing person case.

During a search at the 10 Federal storage facility, investigators located a deceased individual inside one of the units.

The body was recovered and will be sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab for an autopsy. Officials say the autopsy will determine the cause of death and confirm the person’s identity.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, pending proper identification and notification of next of kin.
