Four Arrested In Connection To 2020 Deadly Shooting At Vidalia Gas Station

VIDALIA, Georgia – Authorities have announced multiple arrests in a years-long investigation into a fatal shooting that occurred in Vidalia, GA.

On March 16, 2026, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), working in coordination with the Vidalia Police Department, confirmed that four individuals have been charged in connection with the 2020 homicide.

The case stems from an incident on November 21, 2020, when law enforcement responded to a shooting at a Circle K gas station located at 101 North Street East in Toombs County. The shooting resulted in the death of 29-year-old Treyvious Moliere Jean Baptiste of Fort Pierce, Florida.

Following an extensive investigation, authorities identified four suspects:

Wendell Simpson, 38, of Vidalia, Georgia, is charged with malice murder, felony murder, and aggravated assault. He was arrested on July 16, 2025.

Lynn Cherry, 40, of Collins, Georgia, is charged with party to the crime of malice murder and felony murder. She was arrested on July 18, 2025.

Marqese Stokes, 31, of Fort Pierce, Florida, is charged with party to the crime of malice murder and felony murder. He was arrested on August 12, 2025.

Albert Jones Jr., 36, of Fort Pierce, Florida, is also charged with party to the crime of malice murder and felony murder. He is currently in custody with the Florida Department of Corrections.

Authorities said the investigation remains active and ongoing.
