Bibb County Deputy And Wife Arrested On Incest And Child Cruelty Charges

JONES COUNTY, Georgia – A Bibb County Sheriff’s Office sergeant and his wife have been arrested in connection with serious charges involving a child abuse investigation.

On Tuesday, March 17, 2026, investigators with the Jones County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Sergeant Michael Scott Dorough.

Dorough is charged with incest, cruelty to children in the first degree, and influencing witnesses.

His wife, Ashley Dorough, was also arrested and charged with cruelty to children in the first degree and influencing witnesses.

Both individuals are currently being held without bond.

Authorities say the investigation remains active and ongoing, and additional charges are expected.
