Villa Rica Woman Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash on South Carroll Road

VILLA RICA, Ga. – A 71-year-old Villa Rica woman died Sunday night following a single-vehicle crash that left her trapped inside an overturned vehicle, according to local police.

Officers were dispatched at approximately 8:35 p.m. to South Carroll Road near Spring Street after reports of an accident involving a vehicle overturned with the driver entrapped. Responding officers broke the windshield in an attempt to rescue the driver.

West Georgia Ambulance paramedics arrived at the scene and determined the driver, identified as Wanda Rogers of Villa Rica, had succumbed to her injuries.

Investigators determined Rogers’ vehicle left the roadway, struck a stop sign and a utility pole, then rolled onto the driver’s side before coming to rest.

Police said the cause of the crash remains under investigation, and it is not yet known what led the vehicle to leave the roadway.
