MACON, Ga. – Three men were taken into custody following a traffic stop on Pio Nono Avenue that resulted in the seizure of narcotics, firearms, and a handgun modified with an illegal conversion device, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Drug Unit Investigator Alex Fletcher, assisting the Georgia State Patrol during the stop, located a backpack inside a Ford Focus containing suspected narcotics, a digital scale, packaging materials, and a Glock handgun equipped with a sear, commonly referred to as a switch, which can convert a firearm into a fully automatic weapon.
Authorities also recovered a second handgun during the investigation.
The three individuals arrested face multiple charges, including possession of a sawed-off shotgun, sawed-off rifle, machine gun, dangerous weapon, or silencer related to the modified Glock, two counts of manufacture, delivery, distribution, administration, sale, or possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, and charges related to the purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution, or sale of marijuana.
The investigation remains ongoing.
