Atlanta Man Arrested After Kidnapping Ex-Girlfriend’s Toddler; Officer Rescues Child

ATLANTA, Georgia – An Atlanta man is in custody after police say he broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home and fled with her one-year-old child before officers quickly located the toddler and made an arrest.

On January 30, 2026, at approximately 10:54 a.m., Atlanta Police Zone 4 officers responded to a reported kidnapping at 311 Scott Street SW.

According to investigators, officers met with the victim, who told police her ex-boyfriend had unlawfully entered her residence through a kitchen window. As she ran from the home to call 9-1-1, the suspect allegedly took her one-year-old child and fled on foot.

Officers immediately began canvassing the area while multiple units responded to assist in the search. A short time later, an officer located the child nearby and safely reunited the toddler with the mother.

Police established a perimeter and subsequently apprehended the suspect without incident. He was identified as 21-year-old Abe Harold.

Harold was charged with Kidnapping, Second-Degree Criminal Damage to Property, and Second-Degree Cruelty to Children. He was transported to the Fulton County Jail.

The child was not reported injured. The investigation remains ongoing.
