Albany Police Identify Burned Body Found in Wooded Area
ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany Police Department has identified the man found deceased in a wooded area of Albany late last year as Mark Gregson, 65, authorities announced Wednesday, February 4th.
Gregson’s burned body was discovered in November 2025 in the 2800 block of Rosebrier Avenue. Police said next of kin have now been notified.
The investigation into Gregson’s death is being led by the Albany Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau, with assistance from the Dougherty County Coroner’s Office, the Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office, and the Albany Fire Department.
Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, police said specific details surrounding the circumstances of Gregson’s death are not being released at this time. Investigators said they continue to follow leads and are asking anyone who may have information related to the case, or who may have noticed suspicious activity in the area around the time the body was discovered, to come forward.
