Man Killed, Another Wounded in Albany Shooting; Suspect Still Unknown
Victim: Allen Sharrod Plummer Sr.

ALBANY, GEORGIA – Albany police are investigating a felony murder case following a shooting that left one man dead and another injured earlier this month.

The shooting occurred on December 8, 2025, in the 1100 block of West Waddell Avenue. Investigators say 41-year-old Allen Sharrod Plummer Sr. was standing outside and talking with people who were seated inside a vehicle parked in a driveway when gunfire suddenly erupted from an unknown location.

Police say multiple shots were fired, striking the driver of the vehicle as well as other occupants at the residence. As the gunfire continued, Plummer attempted to move to the front of the vehicle to take cover. At the same time, the driver, who had also been hit by gunfire, attempted to flee by putting the vehicle into gear.

During this sequence of events, Plummer suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. In total, two people were struck by gunfire during the incident.

Detectives are still working to piece together the full circumstances surrounding the shooting and are actively trying to identify the person or people responsible for firing the shots that led to Plummer’s death.
