Multi-County Crime Spree Ends With Arrest in Mitchell County
A man accused of committing a string of crimes across multiple South Georgia counties was taken into custody Sunday after an hours-long search involving several law enforcement agencies.
According to early reports, the incidents began on the morning of December 7, 2025, in the City of Douglas. Investigators say 50-year-old Lamarcus Antoine Duson stole a Chevy Silverado in the area of Estalee Mercer Road in Coffee County before fleeing the area.
Duson then traveled toward Albany, where he is accused of robbing a local store. Authorities from several jurisdictions worked together to track his movements as the crime spree continued.
The pursuit ended in Mitchell County, where deputies located Duson inside a residence he had unlawfully entered. He was taken into custody without further incident.
Duson is currently facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault, armed robbery and motor vehicle theft. Investigators say additional charges are likely as agencies complete their reports and coordinate findings across county lines.
The investigation remains active.
