11 People Killed in Georgia Traffic Crashes Over 2025 Thanksgiving Holiday

ATLANTA, GA – Georgia State Patrol (GSP) reports that 11 people were killed in traffic crashes during the 102-hour Thanksgiving holiday travel period from the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 26, through Sunday, Nov. 30. Troopers investigated six of the fatal crashes.

In addition to the fatalities, troopers investigated over 498 traffic crashes statewide, resulting in nearly 236 injuries. Law enforcement also made more than 23,000 traffic stops, arrested over 422 individuals for driving under the influence, and issued more than 11,249 citations, including over 6,200 for seatbelt violations, more than 226 for child restraint violations, and over 680 for distracted driving.

Five of the holiday traffic deaths were reported by local agencies, including Albany PD, Atlanta PD, DeKalb County PD, Gwinnett County PD, and Glynn County PD. GSP notes that these statistics are preliminary and may change as investigations continue.
