Driver Killed, Passenger Injured in Rollover Crash on I-475 in Bibb County

UPDATE: The vehicle that lost control was a 1999 Honda CR-V. The deceased was identified as 54-year-old Tammi Lamar. The male passenger taken to the hospital was identified as 86-year-old Booker Lamar and is currently in stable condition.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that happened just after 5 p.m. Friday, November 28, on I-475 southbound near the Zebulon Road exit.

According to investigators, the driver of a Jeep lost control, veered off the roadway, and overturned. The female driver was ejected during the crash. A male passenger was pulled from the vehicle by fire rescue crews. Both were taken to a local hospital, where the driver was later pronounced dead. The passenger is reported to be in stable condition.

Authorities will release the driver’s name once her family has been notified.
