GSU Bus Altercation Leads to Assault and Threat Charges for 21-Year-Old Suspect
Atlanta Police have arrested a 21-year-old man after a confrontation on a Georgia State University bus escalated into an assault. Officers were called to 120 Luckie Street NW on November 20, 2025, just after 6:30 in the evening.
According to the victim, the incident began when an unidentified man stepped on her foot while boarding the bus and walked away without acknowledging it. When she confronted him, the man’s girlfriend reportedly stepped in and pushed her, sparking a physical fight. Witnesses eventually broke up the altercation.
The male suspect was later identified as Matthew Gonzales Forestine. Investigators determined he joined in the assault and also made threatening statements during the encounter. He was charged with aggravated assault and terroristic threats, then transported to the Fulton County Jail, where he was booked under the name Gonzales Forestine, Matthew Dave.
