Coffee County Detective Fired, Arrested Following Domestic Incident Investigation
Coffee County, GA – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has arrested Shantokeo Rolax, 41, of Douglas, following an inquiry into a series of harassment and property-damage incidents reported earlier this month. Rolax, who was employed as an investigator with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office at the time, now faces a long list of misdemeanor and felony charges.
The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office requested GBI assistance on November 13 after reports surfaced involving harassment, trespassing and interference with an ongoing investigation. According to the GBI, Rolax allegedly sent threatening or harassing text messages, conducted surveillance, trespassed on property and obstructed efforts to determine who was responsible for the behavior. Investigators say the victim, who had previously been in a relationship with Rolax, is also a deputy with the Sheriff’s Office.
As the investigation progressed, Rolax was placed on administrative leave. Once investigators determined that arrest warrants were appropriate, the Sheriff’s Office terminated his employment.
On November 25, Rolax was taken into custody at the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office without incident and booked into the Coffee County Jail.
He is charged with:
• Criminal Trespass
• False Report of a Crime
• Harassing Communications
• Influencing Witnesses
• Obstructing or Hindering Law Enforcement Officers
• Stalking
• Unlawful Conduct During a 911 Call
• False Statements and Concealment of Facts (Felony)
• Violation of Oath by a Public Officer (Felony)
The case remains active as the investigation continues.
