Walton County Deputies Arrest Suspect in Loganville Carjacking and Shots Fired Call
Walton County deputies have arrested a Loganville man following a carjacking and shots fired incident that began as a loitering complaint at Crowe’s Grocery earlier this week.
Around midday on Monday, November 17, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office responded to the store on Highway 81 after receiving a report of a person loitering. While deputies were en route, the call was upgraded to a shots fired incident. When investigators arrived, they learned the victim’s vehicle had been taken at gunpoint.
Later that day, the stolen vehicle was located in DeKalb County. Several high-value items belonging to the victim were found missing, prompting detectives to launch a detailed follow-up investigation.
According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation quickly pointed to a suspect. On November 21, WCSO detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Kaitlyn Drive in Loganville and arrested David Walker without incident.
Walker is charged with Hijacking a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, and two felony counts of Theft by Taking.
The sheriff’s office said the case reflects its ongoing commitment to protecting residents and ensuring offenders are held accountable.
